Build Real Competence in Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management
Certification is only as strong as the people who run the system behind it. A certificate on the wall does not improve a process, prevent an incident, or reduce environmental impact — trained people do. That is why ITNOG GmbH offers structured, practical training courses for the three management system standards that matter most to industrial and construction organisations: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environment), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety).
As a company that holds its own ISO 9001:2015 certification and works on EPC projects across the Oil & Gas, Wind Energy, Battery Production, Pharmaceutical, and Power Plant sectors, we teach these standards the way they are actually applied on site — not as theory, but as working tools.
This article explains what each course covers, who should attend, and how to choose the right level for you or your team.
Why ISO management system training matters
Implementing or maintaining an ISO management system is rarely a single department’s job. It touches quality control, procurement, site supervision, HSE, and top management. When the people inside a system understand why a requirement exists — and not just that it exists — the system becomes a source of efficiency rather than paperwork.
Well-trained personnel help your organisation to:
- Pass certification and surveillance audits with fewer non-conformities
- Run effective internal audits instead of box-ticking exercises
- Identify risks and opportunities before they become problems
- Reduce rework, waste, incidents, and environmental impact
- Maintain certification year after year without last-minute firefighting
ITNOG delivers training that connects the clauses of each standard to real operational situations our trainers have managed in the field.
Course levels we offer
For each standard, training can be tailored to different roles and levels of responsibility. The most common formats are:
Awareness (Foundation) training — A short introduction for staff who need to understand what the standard requires and how it affects their daily work. Ideal for entire teams ahead of a new implementation or certification.
Internal Auditor training — Equips participants to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits of their own management system, in line with ISO 19011 audit principles.
Lead Auditor training — A more advanced course for those who will manage audit programmes or lead audit teams, covering audit methodology, evidence gathering, reporting, and corrective action management in depth.
Implementation training — Focused on building or upgrading a management system: interpreting requirements, designing documented information, and preparing the organisation for certification.
Courses can be delivered for individuals or as in-house sessions for a full team, and content can be adapted to your industry and project context.
ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management Systems
ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely used quality management standard. It sets out requirements for a system that consistently delivers products and services meeting customer and regulatory expectations, built around risk-based thinking, process management, and continual improvement.
What the course covers:
- The structure and intent of ISO 9001:2015 (Annex SL / High-Level Structure)
- Context of the organisation, leadership, and the role of top management
- Risk-based thinking and the process approach
- Documented information, operational control, and performance evaluation
- Internal auditing and the management review cycle
- Practical interpretation of each clause using real examples
Who should attend: Quality managers, QA/QC engineers, process owners, internal auditors, and anyone responsible for maintaining or improving a quality system.

ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management Systems
ISO 14001 helps organisations manage their environmental responsibilities systematically. With increasing regulatory pressure, climate-related expectations, and client requirements around sustainability, a working environmental management system has become a competitive necessity — particularly in construction and heavy industry.
What the course covers:
- The requirements and intent of ISO 14001:2015
- Identifying environmental aspects and impacts
- Compliance obligations and the legal register
- Lifecycle perspective and operational controls
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Monitoring, measurement, and environmental performance evaluation
- Internal auditing of an environmental management system
Who should attend: Environmental and HSE managers, site engineers, sustainability officers, internal auditors, and project teams working on environmentally sensitive sites.

ISO 45001:2018 — Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety. In construction and industrial environments — where ITNOG operates daily — protecting workers is both a legal duty and a moral one. This standard provides a framework to reduce workplace risk, prevent injury and ill health, and build a genuine safety culture.
What the course covers:
- The requirements and intent of ISO 45001:2018
- Worker consultation and participation
- Hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA)
- Determining OH&S risks and opportunities
- Legal and other requirements
- Operational controls, including management of change and contractors
- Incident investigation, corrective action, and continual improvement
- Internal auditing of an OH&S management system
Who should attend: HSE managers and officers, site supervisors, safety representatives, internal auditors, and anyone with responsibility for health and safety on site.

Why train with ITNOG?
- We practise what we teach. ITNOG holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and is actively implementing integrated ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems — so our trainers teach from lived experience, not slides.
- Industrial and construction focus. Our examples come from real EPC, inspection, welding, and NDT environments, making the training immediately relevant to your projects.
- Flexible delivery. Choose individual enrolment or in-house team sessions tailored to your sector and operational reality.
- Integrated systems expertise. Because the three standards share a common structure, we can train your team across all of them efficiently, showing how a single integrated management system can satisfy all three.
